About Us

Our Story

Kash-Zen is a non-profit organization led by a team of dedicated high school students committed to promoting financial literacy and empowerment. Our journey began when we recognized a significant gap in accessible financial education for underserved communities, immigrants, and young individuals. To address this need, we created a series of engaging and educational programs that focus on money management, investing, entrepreneurship, and financial responsibility. Since our inception, we have partnered with local organizations and schools within the Los Angeles area to deliver impactful workshops and lessons, connecting with extraordinary students and community members along the way. We aim to continue expanding our reach, fostering a culture of financial empowerment, and inspiring the next generation to take charge of their financial futures.

Meet the Team
Zara - President
Zara Khan is a junior at Polytechnic School and the Founder & President of Kash-Zen, an initiative focused on promoting financial literacy among immigrants, underserved communities, and youth. Inspired by early lessons in money management from her immigrant parents, who learned how to navigate the financial systems in America thesmslves, Zara recognized the critical gap in financial education within the American school system. Determined to address this need, she established Kash-Zen, which partners with non-profit organizations in the Los Angeles area to deliver accessible lessons on saving, investing, and entrepreneurship. As a leader, Zara has taught workshops to diverse audiences, ranging from high school students to Ukrainian refugees, emphasizing the importance of financial empowerment. Beyond Kash-Zen, Zara plays tennis, co-leads her school's Middle Eastern Club and serves as the junior alumni board representative. She hopes to use her background to inspire others to achieve financial independence and build a more equitable future.
